Dortea, who travelled with me
is a great storyteller and artist
during our 3 day dog sledge ride to Sisimiut
she saw all kind of faces and images in the awesome mountains
and I, I sang their songs and healed the land
Frederik, our guide, and Rebekka’s brother knew the way,
and so did the dogs

As last time, I stayed with Ernipajuk & Rebekka, and in my leisure time I went to see all my friends. So much love…

Dortea stayed

with Benedicte, they too, had a good time

Here’s my good friend, Benedicte

To kaffemik Dortea told Inuit stories about the skeleton woman and such, Sosha had borrowed Anton’s bearskin boots and the drum belonging to the director of KNI… it took her a few more days to find out how to drum in the proper Inuit way

…Raven again, and so many all over the place

.. there she bought me a drum…

Dortea went to Illulisat

And other previous lives…

The happiest life of all, even though I lived alone, for I was never alone. I healed the sick and was a midwife for many children, I sent the dead safely on their journey, and whenever I was needed in some other village, the women came and picked me up in their ummiak, I told stories, we laughed together, and I healed them and blessed the ummiak on the way, we had many safe and happy journeys.

And on our way to Assaqutaq with Kammamiis husband Ove, and Dortea & Benedicte

Assaqutaq..
Why were the inuits forced to leave their villages?
Was it more civilized?!?

Maybe…
but it wasn’t happiness,
it wasn’t freedom,
it wasn’t a way with a heart…
and this is the only wisdom I know

When you speak Greenlandic remember to SMILE…
say ILLILU!!
