This is
Theresa – She thought I should wear the braided band like this
I had carefully planned the pilgrimage to

And, in the
Tor -
COMPADRE
I met with Tor, my best friend’s son;
he turned out to be
a most wonderful compadre,
and we took turns taking the lead
in a very easy-going way.
Such was the life-style of the Mayans, too
and even though we thought,
we didn’t know much Spanish,
we were sort of adopted and spoken to
AS IF WE BELONGED…
Our
pilgrimage took us to the pyramids of…

Teotihuacan outside Mexico City with the
Great Pyramid, the 3rd biggest in the World,
Monte Alban, a City of the Sun on top of a
mountain outside Oaxaca,
Palenque with such a renowned history that
turned out altogether different in the middle of the seething jungle close to
Yucatan plains
Chichen Itza; We saw the equinox sun set on
the 20th of March on the west side of the great pyramid, so that Kukulkan
= Quetzacoatl, the winged serpent could meander down the stairs of the east
side, for now it was time to sow the corn

we saw the sacred sites of
Mitla; the city of the dead near
Dzibilcaltun; meaning “the bright shining
stones”, where we saw the equinox sun rise on the 21st of March

And we stood in awe (this is Tor on the pic)
and drank of the wisdom of the greatest tree,
Arbol de Thule, some 2000 years old and some
200 people wide.

When the
conquisados came (the Spanish soldiers) they thought the Mayans to be among the
first Christians because of the Mayan cross. This is not true.
The Mayan cross symbolizes Father Sky and
must not rest on the ground.
